Marlowe Barnes General I don't know what it is, but I do not believe it is a GP30 which is one of the most dinstinctive Geep models ever made 2/22/2010 8:21:11 PM
Marlowe Barnes General BTW-it's still a nice photo, however. Good job !! 2/22/2010 8:21:58 PM
Terry Lovell General Southern #2641 was a GP30 returned to EMD in 1965 for rebuilding following wreck damage , Since GP30 production had ended and the GP35 production was under way, This unit emerged with a GP35 body. 2/22/2010 8:45:11 PM
Terry Lovell General NS retired it in Aug89, Not sure what date RJ Corman retired it for Display, Hope this helps. 2/22/2010 8:48:31 PM
Reed Reding General It was moved to Clarksville in the late 1990's (I believe in either 1997 or 1998). Before that it had been stripped for parts at the Guthrie, Ky shop. The caboose is ex-ICG. 2/23/2010 12:20:23 AM
Terry Lovell General Thanks Reed. 2/23/2010 6:50:43 PM
Jim Bruce General This is RJCR 3501 not ATSF 2755 and yes its a GP30R. Unit was Wrecked in 1965 and as GP35s were still being made it was given a GP35 Carbody. this unit also went on to be painted for NS and was Retired in september 1991 and sold to RJ. Cormans in 1992. 5/31/2011 6:01:55 PM
